Lisbon, 06 November 2012 - Vision-Box® has developed and introduced into the market the vb e-pass desktop®. This solution is an integrated front-end unit that performs the optimized ICAO compliant capture and enrolment of the face image, iris, fingerprints and electronic signature.
It is ergonomically designed to be used on a desk, connected to an operator’s workstation through a USB cable, from where the operator commands and controls the actions performed by the vb e-pass desktop® unit.
This plug and play solution supports both the operator and the user through all the stages of the citizen enrolment workflow, providing usage instructions and feedback in the form of configurable text, pictures and animations, displayed on an integrated screen.
The vb e-pass desktop® features the same components, software and quality assurance criteria that distinguish Vision-Box biometric capture solutions as a worldwide reference for the state-of-the-art capture of biometric data used in passports, ID cards, Visas (integrated with VIS) and Residence Permits, and in border control.
The Vision-Box enrolment software includes an interfacing module, which has been developed to support easy and seamless integration with the vb i-shield® Enrolment module, which is able to handle an unlimited number of simultaneous enrolments through a web-based application connected to multiple vb e-pass desktop® units.
