BORDERPOL Launch Preliminary Programme for World BORDERPOL Congress

BORDERPOL, the World Border Organisation, has launched the preliminary programme of its 2nd World BORDERPOL Congress annual event being held in London, UK from 3rd to 4th December and includes many leading international organisations and active senior border agency speakers.

The World BORDERPOL Congress is the only multi-jurisdictional transnational platform where the border protection, management and security industry policy-makers and practitioners convene annually to discuss the international challenges faced in protecting not only one’s own country’s borders, but those of neighbours and friends.

Controlling and managing international borders in the 21st Century continues to challenge the border control and immigration agencies around the world. It is generally agreed that in a globalised world that borders are as open as possible, yet threats continue to remain in ever evolving circumstances and situations.

Hosted by Border Force UK, the 2013 World BORDERPOL Congress will focus considerable attention on border management in a world that is experiencing a global financial crisis and its impact on the movement of persons and goods.

The programme delivers many leading experts and senior border agency personnel presenting some of the challenges and border protection issues from around the world, including changing migration trends, inter-agency cooperation and enhancement programmes for low-risk travellers.

The conference will hear first hand at some of these challenges from over many active senior border agency representatives speaking, including:

Over the past decade we have continually promoted the three C’s in global border security and advanced homeland protection, which is transnational cooperation, communication and consultation. This year’s World BORDERPOL Congress will provide participants with demonstrable opportunities to learn from and network with likeminded experts from around the world who understand and contribute to that concept.”

"This year the specially invited policy makers, practitioners and frontline decision makers will be challenged to expand and share with you their understanding, knowledge and experiences associated with the everyday business of making borders that work for the benefit of all users and stakeholders." concluded Mr Tass.
