The seminar is part of the Powered & Next-Generation Cards conference and exhibition on 17-18 July 2018 Biometric Smart Cards 101 On day 2 of the conference, the Biometric Payment Card Seminar will begin with Biometric Smart Cards 101 - a tutorial covering everything that issuers need to know to begin issuing biometric cards. The tutorial covers how different biometric cards operate, guidelines on how to select biometric card solutions and details of supply chain issues, biometric card production and personalization. The tutorial will be presented by Antonio D’Albore, an independent biometric smart card consultant and the founder and editor of Embedded Security News. Antonio is a smart card specialist with more than 20 years of experience in smart cards development, manufacturing, personalization, integration and business development across payment, identification, transit and access control industries. He is the author of "The Rise of Biometric Cards", the first and only independent research on smart cards with embedded fingerprint sensors. Until recently, Antonio led business development at Zwipe, one of the pioneers of biometric smart payment cards. (Zwipe, together with Gemalto, implemented the first roll-out of biometric smart payment cards in Europe at Bank of Cyprus).
