The tutorial covers how different biometric cards operate, guidelines on how to select biometric card solutions and details of supply chain issues, biometric card production and personalization. The tutorial will be presented by Antonio D’Albore, an independent biometric smart card consultant and the founder and editor of Embedded Security News. Antonio is a smart card specialist with more than 20 years of experience in smart cards development, manufacturing, personalization, integration and business development across payment, identification, transit and access control industries. He is the author of "The Rise of Biometric Cards", the first and only independent research on smart cards with embedded fingerprint sensors. Until recently, Antonio led business development at Zwipe, one of the pioneers of biometric smart payment cards. (Zwipe, together with Gemalto, implemented the first roll-out of biometric smart payment cards in Europe at Bank of Cyprus).
