Outline Congress Programme Topics announced
The outline Congress programme has been announced by the World Border Security Congress Advisory Committee, which continues to push the boundaries of discussion on cross border and international issues and challenges facing the industry.
As the only multi-jurisdictional transnational platform where the border protection, management and security industry policy-makers and practitioners convene annually to discuss the international challenges, ensure you are part of the discussion and join the international border management community in Spain.

 The World Border Security Congress is FREE and open for members of federal government, border management agencies, law enforcement or inter-governmental agencies in border security, management and protection. Applications will be reviewed and considered on an individual basis. Delegates are requested to register sufficiently early to ensure participation.

 The organisers of World Border Security Congress have announced the support of the European Association of Airport & Seaport Police (EAASP) for next year’s World Border Security Congress.
They also announced that President of the EAASP will be speaking at the event in the session on ‘Foreign fighters and counter-terrorism strategies at the border’.

Interstate meeting with police officials held to beef up border security
An interstate co-ordination meeting was held in Shimla to discuss security arrangements in the poll-bound state. Senior police officers from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and Jammu-Kashmir participated in the meeting during which vital information was shared to make fool-proof security arrangement as per the directions of Election Commission of India.

Rohingya crisis: Security tightened along Mizoram border
Eight additional companies of Assam Rifles have been deployed along the Mizoram-Myanmar border to ensure that no Rohingya Muslims entered the state from the neighbouring country, a senior police official said. The vigil was tightened on the instructions of the Centre.

Chiang Rai police seize drug shipment originating in Myanmar
Border patrol police have arrested two local men and seized 276,000 amphetamine “yaba” pills that were hidden in a car in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district, Pol Colonel Rangsiman Songkhraohtham, commander of the 327th border patrol police company.
