Head of Border Police Unit to deliver opening keynote

Col dr Gizella Vas, Head of Hungarian Border Policing Unit of the Hungarian National Police will deliver an opening keynote speech at the 3rd World BORDERPOL Congress to be held in Budapest on 9th-11 December.
Col dr Vas will bring her experience and insight into laying the foundation for discussions at this years congress.

Expanded use of automated border control gates at the West Terminal
The Finnish Border Guard's Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District will be the first in the world to test automated border control gates for passengers requiring visas. The test will involve Russian cruise passengers, who will be able to use the automated gates at the Port of Helsinki's West Terminal.

Misperceptions About US Immigration Laws, Not Violence, Driving Surge Of Illegals, Report Says
The “significant increase” in illegal aliens from Central American arriving at the US border – primarily in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas – “since mid-2013 is most likely driven by traditional migration factors exacerbated by misperceptions of recent US immigration policies among migrants,” said the July 7 El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) intelligence assessment, “Misperceptions of US Policy Key Driver in Central American Migrant Surge.”
