Scientific Conference “Crime Scene”

The main event of the 5th International Forensic Technology Fair CrimeLab is the 4th International Scientific Conference “Crime Scene”. It is organised by the Central Police Forensic Laboratory and the Polish Forensic Association. The CrimeLab fair will be held on 12-14 April 2016 at the MT Polska Trade Fair and Congress Centre in Warsaw, in parallel with the 18th International Trade Fair of Analytical, Measurement and Control Technology EuroLab.

The CrimeLab fair is targeted at forensic science professionals. The conference “Crime Scene” will take place for the fourth year in a row and last for two days. It attracts large audiences, many lecturers and speakers, including theoreticians and practitioners of forensic science, businessmen, researchers, academics, representatives of the judiciary and the police, as well as students of law, forensic science and related sciences.

The conference will feature demonstrations by Polish and German forensic technologists, who will investigate a staged crime scene. Using state-of-the-art equipment and materials, they will reveal and secure forensic traces. The demonstration will provide an opportunity to compare the working principles, techniques and documentation methods used by the teams from Poland and Germany.

Forensic science: From history to practice

One of the sessions scheduled for the first day of the conference will be devoted to the history of forensic science. The speakers will present the impressive achievements and dynamic development of this science, which serves to detect crimes, identify the perpetrator and their modus operandi, collect evidence and prevent crime.

Innovation in forensic science

The conference will also tackle the topic of scientific and technical innovations that make investigation more effective and speed up analyses of different types of materials and substances, helping professionals in their work. The lecturers will present state-of-the-art equipment, discuss the use of new technologies and solutions streamlining the process of securing evidence at the scene of the crime, identification and forensic examination (3D scanning, laser rangefinder, etc.).
